After getting the house key, the nightmare begins. Why did I say so? Because it is the time when your money starts burning exaggeratedly. Besides the renovation and furniture, you have to start paying the Town council and Electrical & Water bill even you have yet moved in.
Since I am going to park my saving into UOB One account for merry-go-round. I will arrange 3 – 4 of my bills to be paid by UOB giro. The rest will be charged to UOB One card to hit $500 minimum spending.
Basically, UOB One account offer 2.43% effective interest (although UOB stated 3.88%) excluded the card rebate. In order to enjoy the interest, you need to spend at least $500 AND either credit your salary or pay 3 bills via GIRO. This is a good alternative option if your salary credited in other bank eg. OCBC 360 account.
How to earn cash rebates on bills?
Besides the saving interest, UOB One card earns you a 3.33% cash rebate for a minimum spend of $500 per month for every 3 consecutive months. However, do take note of exclusions eg. Top up Singtel Dash does not qualify as eligible retail spend. You may read the TnC here for more details.
Many of you may aware that AXS has now accepted GrabPay as one of the payment methods. Since top-up grab wallet does qualify as an eligible spend, you may top up Grab wallet with UOB One card, and pay most of your bills by GrabPay via AXS.
Below are some of the billing organisation that you can pay using AXS GrabPay:
- Telco eg. M1, Singtel, StarHub
- Electricity eg. SP Group, Geneco, Keppel Electric, Senoko Energy, I Switch
- Town Councils
- Season Parking
- Insurance eg. AIA, Aviva, Great Eastern Life, Manulife, Prudential
- Income Tax
- Hospital eg. KK Hospital, KTP, NCC, NDC, TTS
In additional, UOB One card rewards 5% on Grab transactions. Which means you save at least 5% on your bills. If you want to know more details on how much you can earn by using UOB One card, you may use this UOB One Card Cashback Calculator to estimate your quarterly rebate.
